ITS HERE! THE 6TH ANNUAL MCR FALL CLASSIC
The long awaited event is here! The 6th annual MCR Fall Classic at McKean County Raceway in E. Smethport, PA kicks off tonight at 7PM! This will be the biggest Fall Classic in track history and the anticipation has been building ever since the July World of Outlaw event that saw nearly 7000 fans on the fairgrounds oval.
The names of drivers that have contacted, Chris Zuver of ULMS Racing Series have been extraordinary and fans can expect their local heroes such as “The Captain” Jason Dupont of Cyclone, Franklinville’s, Greg Oakes competing against past Fall Classic winners, Chub Frank, Rob Blair, Boom Briggs, Russ King of Bristolville, Ohio and World of Outlaw stars Vic Coffey of Caledonia, NY and Rick Eckert of York, PA intend to be on hand as well. Dover, PA drivers, Coleby Frye and Scott Lebarron are expected to be on hand as well along with three time 2011 ULMS winners, Dave Hess Jr and Dan Stone of Thompson, PA. ULMS expects to crown a new champion in Mike Knight of Ripley, NY dethroning Briggs from repeating his 2010 title.
Tonight’s action kicks off at 7PM with the street stocks and mini stocks having a complete program and the Northern Tier Inc ULMS Late Models competing in a $1500 to win King of the Hill match race. Open practice for the ULMS late models along with the FASTRAK Late Models and UEMS Emods as well.
Tomorrow the action gets lot more intense as the Northern Tier Inc ULMS Late Models compete for $4000 in the 30 lap Dave Lundgren Memorial. Last year, former two time ULMS champion, Dick Barton captured the “prelude” of the Classic. The FASTRAK NE Regional Series will also be on hand for a $1200 to win event and a field of nearly 40 FASTRAK crate late models are expected on hand with local stars, Steve Dixon and Damien Bidwell competing against defending series champion, Max Blair and Pittsburgh area stars, Josh Holtgraver and Mike Pegher Jr. The UEMS Emods will also be on hand for their first of two events of the weekend. Ohio driver, Joel Watson will lead the Emod contingent but he will have his hands full with Olean star, Randy Hall and last weeks winner at Pittsburgh, Dave Hess Jr of Waterford. A field of approximately 40 Emods is expected to be on hand for the $1300 to win event. Extra money was put up by Penn Air Notching of Bradford for the UEMS Emods. The Street Stocks will also compete in a $500 to win event as well.
Day three on Saturday will be the highlight of the weekend with the 6th annual Priority Care RaceFAN 50 taking place for the Northern Tier Inc ULMS Late Models. The $13,000 prize has had five different winners in five years! Odds say there could easily be a 6th different winner with Eckert, Dick Barton, David Scott, Dupont, Stone, Knight, Dennis Lunger, Coffey and Pittsburgh area driver Jared Miley in the pits. The UEMS Emods will run their second event with the winner going home with $1500 making it a possible $2800 weekend at MCR. The Street Stocks will be gunning for $1200 to win in a very rich purse for the street stocks as an extra $200 has been donated. The FASTRAK Late Models will compete for a $1250 to win show as well to end out the 2011 racing season at McKean County Raceway. Race time starts at 6PM on Saturday |
