Little Valley Speedway to Host Big
Super Late Model/358 Modified Finale
(Little Valley, NY) On Saturday,
September 18th at 6:30 PM, Little Valley Speedway ends
its 2010 season, and will go out in style, with the WNY Super Late
Model and 358 Modified Double Header, sponsored by Steve’s Auto and
Machine, when the track will crown its Super Late Model, 360 Late
Model, and Street Stock champions in a blockbuster show, which will
also see the 358 Modifieds compete for a guaranteed starting spot at
Syracuse during Super Dirt Week.
The Super Lates, led by former champion
and current point leader, Dick Barton, most recent winner and
defending champion, Bob Close, along with the another former
champion, “Slowride” David Scott, author of a record nine straight
wins a few years back, along with many of the top drivers in the
region, will vie for a hefty $4,000 to win.
The 358s will feature the Van Pelt
brothers, Billy and Curt, who have dominated in recent years,
against some pretty tough competition from Western New York and
Southern Ontario, including former winner Chad Brachmann, Scott
Wood, Tim Jones, and recently crowned Ransomville champion, Todd
Burley, who has indicated he will be there as well. The race will
not only pay $2,000 for 25 laps, but, as mentioned previously, will
also be a Syracuse Qualifier.
(A note to all the 358 teams, please
check the speedway website,
littlevalleyspeedway.com, or call the speedway at (716)
938-9146, for some slight rule changes).
The 360 feature, paying $1,000 to win,
will be a BRP Can Am Series race as well, meaning the very best 360
late models will be there. Bruce Miller and Bryce Davis are locked
in a tight duel for the track title, and it comes down to the final
night, while Larry Knowles, a former winner at Little Valley, looks
to pad his point lead in the BRP Series.
The highly competitive Street Stocks
will battle for a $500 payday and try to catch point leader Chris
Austin.
Cost for this star-studded event is $15
for adults, with those under 12 admitted free. The rain date is
Sunday, September 19th. Little Valley Speedway is
located on the Cattaraugus County Fairgrounds on Rt. 353 in Little
Valley, NY, just six miles north of the Salamanca exit of I-85 and
only eight miles from the resort town of Ellicottville.
Other area attractions include the
Seneca Casino in Salamanca and Alleghany State Park, the jewel of
New York parks.
The picturesque facility features free
camping with hookups, a covered grandstand with stadium seats, and
some of the best food on the racing circuit. For more information,
go to the track website,
littlevalleyspeedway.com, or call the track at (716) 938-9146.
