On the fourth try to get racing started for the 2011 season Raceway 7 finally got one over on Mother Nature and beats the rains. Track photographer Bill Galford sends these photos from opening night. Shawn Fawcett (224) came back from a disastrous flip near the end of last season to win his heat and run seventh in the feature after starting on the outside front row. Here, Fawcett leads Rush Firestone (2), who went on to win his first feature ever at Raceway 7.

The United E-Mod Series visited Raceway 7 for the first leg of the "Tri-State Challenge". Chris Zuver's popular E-Mod sanction brought 38 E-Mods for the $1000 first place purse. Here Percy McDonald (38), the 2009 track champion, tries the low side to get by Rich Michael (17x), Kari Gasser 0K, Joel Watson (92) and Bud Watson (2).
Kyle Bedell (44) leads Chuck Steinle (71k) John Woodward (18), Percy McDonald (38), and 2010 track champion Russ Dunn (222) out of turn four.
FASTRAKs go three abreast out of turn four during heat action. Bob Dorman low in the 19, Max Blair in the middle in 111, and Mike Mitchell high in the 19. Blair continued his domination of the class, winning both heat and feature.
Leonard Enos (27), leads Al Brewer (71), an unidentified car on the high side, and Mike Eschrich in the 9E in UEMS E-Mod action.
Nathan Hill in 33, Leonard Enos in 27, and the veteran Al Brewer in the 71, race throuigh turn three at the fast Ohio oval.

Eventual winner Randy Hall (10), a former track champion, gets by Butch Southwell (55s) in heat action.
Former Eriez Speedway champion Paul Schreckengost runs the low line while former Raceway 7 track champion Ed Bolyard, runs the high line in Street Stock action.
