The Ned Gleason Memorial was run at McKean County Raceway on June 30 and it turned out to have the closest finish ever in McKean County History. Jay Pees was there and captured the action including the finish line photo that shows the top three finishers with less than a foot from 1st to 3rd. Congratulations to Chad Valone, Matt Lux, and Mike Knight on giving the crowd a thrilling race. The last lap was amazing with the leaders charging down the front straight to John Powell's checkers without wrecking each other. What a race!!!
Ron Davies suffered a flat tire during the feature but was fast all night.

Mike Knight was part of the three-way scramble for the win, had hounded Valone for several laps and actually nosed ahead on occasion. However at the end it was Valone prevailing as the three, Valone, Matt Lux, and Knight charged down the main straight.
Brent Rhebergen won a heat. Suffered a flat tire in the feature.
Chris Hackett and Matt Lux battle in the heat. Lux eventually finished second, by less than six inches.
Former track champion Dick Barton qualified through B-Main, fought his way to a sixth place finish.
Central Pennsylvania driver Luke Hoffner made the feature and finished 13th.
Dennis Lunger was ninth at the checkers.
Barton and Lunger race for position.
Jason DuPont led during the early stages of the feature, lost lead to Valone on a double-file restart, then slid high in turn two, losing several spots. He had won the third heat.
Chad Valone started fourth, ran second to DuPont in the early stages of the race, won by the narrowest of margins. Valone was second in his heat.
Matt Lux leads Dan Stone and Ron Davies during feature action.
Lux and Greg Oakes race hard for position in feature.
Bud Phillips spins in front of traffic including Boom Briggs in 99, and Dutch Davies in the 26, was 19th in the final standings.
Ron Davies races Greg Oakes. Oakes wound up eighth at the end while Davies was 12th.
Veterans Dick Barton, a former McKean County Raceway Champion, and Boom Briggs, former winner of the Fall Classic, race for position in feature action. Briggs finished 11th while Barton raced his way to sixth.
Greg Satterlee and Brent Rhebergen race hard through turn three. Satterlee drove to seventh in the final order while Rhebergen's tire issue dropped him to 18th.
Ron Davies, showing the damage to the right rear that cost him a tire and the chance of a win, dropping him to twelfth.
Dan Stone races Dick Barton. Stone shocked the World of Outlaws regulars at Tr-City Speedway a few years back, winning the Labor Day event.
The finish! Valone narrowly edges out Matt Lux on the low side and Mike Knight in the middle. In turn one on the final lap Knight actually nosed ahead but the momentum of the high side allowed Valone to regain the lead in the back straight. Lux was third at the white flag.
A very happy Chad Valone in Victory Lane!
