Three Nights of Great Racing at SSP This
Weekend
Wednesday Night Test & Tune also on Tap.
Newberrytown, PA (June 29, 2010) – An
exciting weekend of racing action begins
this Thursday night, July 1, with the
Eichelberger’s U-Pull-It Super Show V
featuring the 4th annual 600cc
Micro Spring Speedweek race along with the
second appearance of the season of the PA
Sprint Series as well as the Legends Cars.
On Saturday night, racing action now begins
at 7:00 p.m. Pit gates will open at 4:30
p.m. and the grandstand gates will open at
5:00 p.m. Track preparation laps begin at
6:40 p.m. with qualifying races at 7:00 p.m.
followed by consolation races and feature
events.
General Admission Grandstand ticket prices
for Saturday night are Adults (ages 18-59)
$12.00; Young Adults (ages 11-17) & Senior
Adults (60 & Older) $10.00; Children (10 &
under) are free. Pit pass prices are
$22.00 with a reduced price of $20.00 for
all pit competitor license holders. The
minimum age requirement to purchase a pit
pass is 12 years of age with a copy of a
birth certificate is required for all ages
12 to 14.
The second race of the Summer Shoot-Out
Series at the SSP Outback Track will be on
Friday night, July 2. The pit gates will
open 5:00 p.m. with a driver’s meeting at
7:15 p.m. Open practice begins at 6:45 p.m.
and racing action begins at 7:30 p.m. There
will be no sanctioning body affiliation for
either karts or quarter midgets, but the
technical/specification rules will be very
similar to the major sanctioning groups for
these types of cars (W.K.A. and QMA). The
entry fees for each class will be $20.00 per
entry for driver’s with an annual license.
Pit pass fees for the driver are included in
the entry fee. Non-license driver’s entry
fees will be $25.00. Participants may enter
more than one class on a raceday ($12.00 for
each additional class). Trophies will be
awarded to the top three in each class.
No participants will be denied racing as
SSP will make every effort to define a class
for all drivers who wish to compete.
Pit pass prices for non-drivers at the
Outback Track will be $8.00 for everyone
ages 18 & older; Teens & Children ages 11 –
17 are $5.00; Children 10 years of age and
under are $3.00. Ages 2 & under are
admitted free.
Racing action then returns again to the Big
Track at SSP on Saturday night, July 3 with
the 5th Annual Summer Fun
Championships featuring the Late Models (30
laps) paying $1,000-to-win, Street Stocks
(25 laps) paying $600-to-win, Xtreme Stock
Cars, XSC Elite, PENNMAR Vintage Cars and
Road Warriors. On Saturday night, racing
action now begins at 7:00 p.m. Pit gates
will open at 4:30 p.m. and the grandstand
gates will open at 5:00 p.m. Track
preparation laps for the Late Models and
Street Stocks begin at 6:40 p.m. with
qualifying races at 7:00 p.m. followed by
consolation races and feature events.

The popular "Repeat Fan Discount" program
will continue at SSP in 2010 for the seventh
straight season. This is a $2.00 repeat fan
discount for each person with a ticket stub
from races during the previous week's events
completed only. Returning
fans are encouraged to write their name,
address and phone number on the back of the
stub to be entered into special drawings
during and at the end of the season for
great prizes. The Repeat Fan Discount
is not valid for pit pass purchases.
Last Saturday night on
a very fast and wide racing surface that
provided multiple grooves of racing, Chris
Knopp of Fawn Grove won his second straight
Late Model feature and third of the season
at the Susquehanna Speedway Park on Saturday
night. Sophomore Street Stock driver, Brett
Pickel of Bainbridge finally picked up his
first career victory after weeks of
mechanical failures and bad luck.
Lancaster’s Donnie Broderick returned to his
winning ways by winning his eighth Xtreme
Stock Car feature of the season. Etter’s
Andrew Frye won the 15-lap XSC Elite feature
for his fourth of the season. Daryl Sipe of
York Haven claimed his fourth straight Mini
Van victory. Jim Crocker was awarded the
Classic Car victory when Bill Brown Sr. was
disqualified in post-race technical
inspection.
The Susquehanna Speedway Park is located
midway between Harrisburg and York off I-83

Swap Meet Added to the Next Wednesday Night
Test & Tune on June 30
The next Wednesday Night Test & Tune session
will be held on Wednesday, June 30
at the Susquehanna Speedway Park. It is
open to any type of racecars capable of
competing on the 4/10 mile oval. The cost
is $12.00 per person for pit passes and a
$20.00 fee for each racecar entering the pit
area ($32.00 per car & driver combination).
Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with open track
time from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. by class.
Each session will be 6 – 8 laps per
session. The grandstands are open free to
the public. Each class will receive 4 to 5
rounds of 6/8 laps each or more if time
permits. The fuel pumps from Miller’s
Racing Parts will not be open. Anyone
needing fuel should contact Miller’s Racing
Parts directly at 717-766-0181. The
main concession stand will be open
throughout the night.
Also on Wednesday night, there will an open
practice session for quarter midgets and
karts at the Outback Track from 6:30 p.m. to
9:00 p.m. under the lights. The gates will
open at 5:30 p.m. with open practice from
6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The cost will be
$20.00 per driver with no charge for anyone
else entering the grandstand and “cold pit”
areas. All Outback Track participants
should enter the pits from the Kise Mill
Road entrance behind turn 2 of the “Big
Track.”
There will also be a bi-weekly racing swap
meet added to all Wednesday Night Test &
Tunes scheduled for 2010 at SSP. The event
is free to buy, sell or look. All sellers
will set up in the parking lot across the
street from the speedway. The times are
from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Any racing
related items may be sold new or used from
go karts/quarter midgets to full-size
racecars and everything in between. This
will give teas a chance to raise money by
getting rid of equipment not needed and give
other teams a chance to search for those
items needed to stay on the track in 2010.
Cars, engines, parts and trailers may be
available.

received momentarily, offering a validation
code that needs to be typed in to complete

- New Towns Added to Hometown Heroes
Program –
There are new towns that have just been
added to SSP’s popular fan program called
“Hometown Heroes.” On selected nights
throughout the 2010 season, the Hometown
Heroes Program recognizes drivers from
particular cities and towns throughout
Pennsylvania and Maryland. Before the races
begin, the drivers have the opportunity to
display their cars and meet the fans at the
front gate of the speedway. The drivers
will also be interviewed during the night’s
racing program. Also, all fans entering the
speedway from that driver’s hometown being
honored will be admitted FREE to the
grandstands by showing proper photo
identification at the ticket booth.

- Track Rental for the “Big Track” and
the “Outback Track”
– The “Big track” and the “Outback track”
are available for rent beginning March 1,
2010. The “Big Track” rental fee is
$1,400.00 for 4 hours and may be split
between a maximum of five-(5)
drivers/teams. Only one car is permitted on
the track at a time. If an ambulance is
requested, it is an additional $75.00 per
hour. For nighttime rentals at the “Big
Track”, an additional $100.00 per hour will
be charged for lights.
The rental price for the “Outback Track” is
$400.00 for 4 hours during the day /$500.00
at night and may be split between a maximum
of five-(5) drivers/teams. To reserve
