This is the result of a poorly executed double file restart when somebody at the front of the field "brake-checked". Jeff Hoffman (32) and Dave Hess Jr (44) were the last row that successfully slowed while Jason DuPont (No7) is jumped by Boom Briggs (99) and Bumpy Hedman (22) drives under Dave Scott (3)......
Briggs and DuPont get straightened out while Scott and Dick Barton (14B) turn sideways, and Bump Hedman has to deal with Greg Oakes who has hit him low on the driver's door...
Hedman turns over onto his roof after the contact from Oakes.
Hedman's mount is gently turned back to its wheels, he was unhurt. This was the second time Bump got upside down in this corner in the past two years.
The "Titusville Terror", Rob Blair, takes the checkers from starter John Powell at the conclusion of the 30 lap Jim Duffy Memorial. Duffy was the man most responsible for bringing stock car racing back to McKean County in the early 1980s.
