Leroy’s Towing Super Sportsman Special and Roberts Trucking $2,000 to Win Crate Late Model Jed Lyon 30 Lap Memorial at Stateline Speedway
By Glenn Slocum

Busti, NY: Two events for the price of one this Saturday night at Stateline Speedway. The first will be the Leroy’s Trucking Super Sportsman Special and the second the inaugural appearance of the Crate Late Models in the Roberts Trucking sponsored Jed Lyon 30 Lap Memorial paying $2,000 to the winner and $300 to start.
Falconer NY’s Joe Buccola Jr. is the Super Sportsman leader and is the favorite for Special this Saturday. Buccola has finished in the top five in every Sportsman feature this year and has collected three wins. Last years Sportsman champ John Boardman, Jamestown NY, is second in the standing and also has three wins.
Several Super Late Model drivers have make appearances this year in Crate Late Models including Bump Headman, David Scott, Dick Barton, Greg Oakes, Dennis Lunger Jr. and John Lackey and E-Mod drivers like Carl McKinney, Randy Hall and Dave Lyon. The Crates are Super Late Model chassis with a spec GM motor so they look like a Super Late but do not have the horsepower. Fans should expect close racing where driver experience and car setup will make the difference.
Last Saturday’s Super Late Model Special was not a point race so the standings are unchanged. Corry Pa’s Chris Hackett leads Wattsburg PA’s Scott Johnson by forty-four points.
Veteran Scott Gurdak, Bear Lake PA, leads the E-Mod division and is third in the Super Late standings.
2009 Outlaw Cadet Champ Mike Moore, Russell PA, gained some ground on point leader Kelly Frederes last Saturday. Moore won the feature and Frederes, also from Russell PA, had his worst finish of the season. Moore is third and Jamestown NY’s Steve Moynihan is second.
Bear Lake PA’s Brandon Groters continued complete dominance in the Spectator division notching his seventh win last Saturday. Brocton NY’s Mike Moon is second.
Scott Dellahoy Jr., Sinclairville NY, and Jimmy Diabo, Gerry NY, are separated by just three points in the Super Challenger division.
Tabetha Houser, North East PA, is the Lady Challenger leader.
Gates open on Saturday at 5:30 PM with racing at 7:00 PM. General admission Adults $10.00, Seniors $9.00, Kids $5.00 and kids 5 and under free.
