Baer and Zechman Win Extra Distance Races on
Saturday Night at SSP Newberrytown, PA (July 3, 2010) – With the special “heads up” handicapping implanted for the annual Summer Fun Championships on Saturday night, July 3 at the Susquehanna Speedway Park, Dover’s Larry Baer led all 30 laps to win his second Late Model feature of the season. Baer continues to lead the 2010 Late Model Track Championship Points battle. Randy Zechman of Littlestown won his third of the year in the 25-lap Street Stock feature event. Lancaster’s Donnie Broderick is now nine for ten in Xtreme Stock features. Patrick McClane of York claimed the XSC Elite feature race. Brian Lefebvre of Etters won his fourth Road Warrior event of the year in a race that saw four different leader in the 15-lap race. Paul Bacchus was the victor in the 12-lap PENNMAR Vintage Car feature event. The Susquehanna Speedway Park will now be closed until Thursday, July 15. The second half of the racing season should prove to be just as exciting and fun as th first half of the 2010 season. Racing action returns to the SSP Outback Track on Friday night, July 16 at 7:30 p.m. featuring quarter midget, kart and Adult Speedcar racing action. This race is part of the 2010 Summer Shoot-Out Series. Racing begins at 7:30 p.m. Racing action returns to the Big Track at SSP on Saturday night, July 17 with the Late Models, Street Stocks, Xtreme Stock Cars, XSC Elite, Legends Cars and Mini Vans. Racing begins at 7:00 p.m. Saturday will also be the next “Hometown Heroes” night of the season featuring the towns of Hanover, Littlestown, McSherystown, New Oxford and Orrtanna. All fans entering the speedway from the hometowns being honored will be admitted FREE to the grandstands by showing proper photo identification and filling out an information card at the ticket booth. The Susquehanna Speedway Park is located off I-83 to exit 32, then 1.4 miles NW on SR382 to York Road, then 1.3 miles south.
