WINNING WEEKEND, AND A TRIP TO THE ZOO!

by Tommy Goudge (July 15, 2010) - London Ontario's Ryan Litt and the #07L BS&B Radiatior/OTC Tools Sprint Car team spent their holiday weekend at the races, and came away with their first feature win of the season. After a weekend off, they're ready to get back on track and continue their streak of good runs this Saturday.

Friday, July 2nd found Ryan and the team at the Dixie Motor Speedway in Birch Run, Michigan for an Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints series event. Ryan started the night by qualifying second in the time trial session with a 12.492 second lap.

Jason Blonde had the lead in the feature with a few laps to go when Chad Goff blew his engine and brought out a caution flag. On the restart, Ryan was able to get by Jason for his first feature win of the season.

"It was a great weekend for us. The Dixie race was unreal...it was the hardest I've ever worked for a win," says Ryan. "We got lucky with the caution and I was able to jump in front of Jay after a good two lap side by side battle with three laps to go."

Although he's raced against multiple-time Sprint Car champion Jason Blonde and many other talented racers for quite a few years now, Ryan still gets a thrill out of racing with them.

"(Jason) is one of the most underrated drivers out there, so it was a big thrill to race wheel-to-wheel with him, and eventually make the pass," says Ryan. "There is nothing better than good hard racing and it makes it even better when you can do it with a talented driver who you know will race you clean."

Ryan qualified fourth the next night at Owosso Speedway, and started seventh in the thirty lap feature. He made his way to the front, but row five starters Jeff Bloom and Jason Blonde were fast as well. Bloom took the feature win with Blonde second and Ryan third.

"We had a good run at Owosso," says Ryan. "Definitely didn't have the best car but it was still a strong run for us. I think maybe with a caution it would have been a close battle between Bloom, Jay and myself."

A huge crowd turned up for the Owosso event, and it was announced a second AVSS event will be held at the mid-Michigan track in August.

"I also have to mention that Owosso had one of the fullest grandstands I have ever seen," says Ryan. "I literally couldn't spot one open seat - that's awesome!"

This weekend Ryan and the BS&B team head to Kalamazoo Speedway in Kalamazoo, Michigan for the fifth round of the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series season. Ryan heads into the weekend ranked fifth in series points. Ryan has competed in just one prior event at "The Zoo", a high-banked three-eighths mile track. That event was back in 2006, and Ryan finished fourteenth, while another race was rained out the same year.

"I don't have much experience at Kalamazoo, but we seem to really have the car working good lately," says Ryan. "Hopefully we can get it locked down early on and make some small adjustments. It is a small track so I think once again starting position is going to be a factor, as the field is really close in speed this year. It really takes a good car to come from mid pack to the front."

Ryan is looking for a Supermodified ride for the Sandusky Hy-Miler Nationals coming up next weekend, and Delaware Classic Weekend in August. If interested, please contact ryanlittmedia@hotmail.com.
