World of Outlaws to invade Eriez Sunday night!
Hammett,
PA (July 29, 2010) The World of Outlaws Late Model Series, the premier
touring series for dirt late models in this country, will make their
annual appearance Sunday night, August 1, at Eriez Speedway to race for
$10,000 to win. The best local drivers will match
skill with the best of the touring stars with 50-60 cars expected to
make time trials to determine the heat race line-ups.
Drivers expected will be
Union, KY's Darrell Lanigan,
fresh off two consecutive wins, the last one coming July 29 at Dave
Blaney's Sharon,
OH speedplant. Other stars
expected from the national series are Dresden, OH's Donnie Moran, winner
of the "Million" a few years back, Waterville, OH's Matt Miller, the
teenage sensation from Seaford, DE, Austin Hubbard, Modified stars Tim
Fuller and Tim McCreadie, both from Watertown, NY, Senoia, GA's Clint
Smith, the "Kentucky Colonel" Steve Francis, OH's Russell King, here
recently for a weekly show, and many others, including Bear Lake, PA's
Chub Frank, and long-time local favorite who has made
his name running at the front of the traveling series.
The local contingent will be headed up by Ripley, NY's
Mike Knight, former Eriez Champion and multiple winner
this season, Corry's Chris Hackett,
a winner this season, Scott Johnson from nearly Lowville, PA, and
Warren's Bumpy Hedman, winner of one feature this season.
Still looking for that elusive first win at Eriez is
Chad Valone, who set fast time last year before the
rains came and washed away his efforts. The
Titusville Terror, Robbie Blair,
is expected to be among the locals looking to steal the glory from the
traveling band of Outlaws.
Joining the Jay's Auto
Wrecking Super Late Models will be the Plyler Overhead Door E-Mods, the
Route 8 Boardwalk Bar and Grill Limited Late Models, and the Mill Run
Collision Street Stocks. The Hunter Trucking
Sportsman class and the Summit Auto Auction Challengers will be not be
racing this Sunday.
Eriez Speedway is located
on Sampson Road,
just off Lake Pleasant Road
in the town of Hammet,
PA, 3 miles south of Interstate 90. Take Route 8 South from Interstate
90 Exit 29 and follow the signs starting in Hammett. Admission for this
special racing weekend is $30.00 for Adults, children 6 - 15 $15, under
6 free. Racing will start at 6 PM.
