World of Outlaws Late Model Lightning Highlights Sharon Speedway Program

Hartford, OH July 23, 2008 The "Bad Boys" of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series will be bringing their "Toys" to the Sharon Speedway this Saturday, July 26th, as the Series stops by the Hartford, OH oval for the third leg of Alltel Ohio Speedweek competition.

Chub Frank of nearby Bear Lake, PA was victorious when the Series visited the Speedway last year and as always Frank is one of drivers who will definitely be in the hunt for the win.

DIRT Modified drivers have been moving into the WoO ranks during the past several years and three former and current NY Mod competitors are expected to be in attendance for the event. Tim McCreadie recently returned to the Series joining fellow New Yorker's Vic Coffey and Tim Fuller. Fuller recently won two WoO events in Wyoming and North Dakota while McCreadie picked up a victory when the Series visited Canada in June.

Darrell Lanigan and Josh Richards are currently battling for the Series Points Title. Richards AKA "Kid Rocket" has four wins to Lanigan's two but Lanigan has used consistency to stay out front. Both drivers are fun to watch and their on track battles are sure to be enjoyed by fans at the Sharon Speedway.

In addition to the World of Outlaws regulars a large contingent of Late Model drivers from Western PA and Eastern OH are also expected. Northern Tier drivers such as Dutch and Ron Davies, Dave Hess Jr., David Scott, and Matt Lux are always formidable opponents for the World of Outlaws regulars. In addition Ashland, OH driver "Flyin" Ryan Markham, "The General" George Lee, Russell King and Tony Lombardi will be leading the charge of the Ohio drivers.

The Tight-Seal Glass Block Pure Stocks will also be in competition this Saturday. Alan Dellinger currently leads the divisional point standings and has already captured five feature wins at the Trumbull County oval in 2008. Jamestown, PA veteran Bill Hanna is in second place in the season long points' battle. Hanna has not been able to secure a victory but his consistency has definitely kept him right behind Dellinger.

Shaun Hooks, Charlie Jasinski and Bruce Redman are the three other drivers who have secured victories at the Speedway in 2008. While Hooks is not a regular competitor at the Speedway, both Jasinski and Redman have had several top five finishes thus far in 2008.

Get prepared as the best Late Model Drivers in the nation will be in competition at the Sharon Speedway this Saturday, July 26th. Pit Gates will open at 3:00PM, with the Grandstand Gates opening at 4:00. Time Trials will begin at 6:00PM with racing to follow immediately afterwards.

Adult General Admission is $25.00 with Teens (Ages 9-13) priced at $10.00. Pit Admission is $35.00.
