The World of Outlaws made it's annual visit to Bobby Rohrer's Eriez Speedway on July 31, 2011 with top-notch racing as usual.  Below are the results in no particular order, just a photo of as many competitors as space will permit.

John Lobb, local favorite, prepared by winnning the Super Late Model feature July 24.

 

Delaware's Austin Hubbard was looking for his first-ever win at Eriez Speedway.

 

One of the best crowds in Eriez 2011 season was on hand for the show.

 

The "Kentucky Colonel" Steve Francis timed in at 16.233, good for fourth fastest but had troubles in his heat, took a provisional. but only finished two laps and was credited with 24th in the final rundown.

 

Current points leader Rick Eckert was ninth fastest, finished 2nd in his heat, drew the seventh starting position and finished sixth in the feature, maintaining his points lead.

 

Chub Frank, The "Shoestring Traveler"  was 23rd fastest on his home track.  Eriez Speedway was originally built by a group of men including Chub's father Jerry Frank in 1961.  Frank finished tenth in the final rundown.

 

2005 Eriez Speedway Champion Andy Kania was 19th on the clock but did not transfer into the feature.

 

Second-generation driver Dave Hess Jr is a many-times champion at Eriez, both in Super Late Models and E-Mods but only timed in at 14th.  Hess transferred into the feature with a second in his heat and went on to the 16th finishing position after starting sixth.

 

Former Modified standout Vic Coffey, was 27th fastest, started the feature fourth and finished fifth.

 

Shane Clanton of Locust Grove, GA made a trip to Eriez earlier this summer and it paid off with a heat win after qualifying fifth fastest.  Clanton then started the feature from the pole and finished third.

 

Leading Rookie of the year candidate Pat Doar clocked in 20th fastest, ran 11th in feature after starting 12th.

 

Boom Briggs timed at third fastest but struggled in his heat, barely making fourth in the heat, the final transfer spot.  He then started the feature in 15th and finished the grind in 14th.

 

 

Scott Gurdak started the feature 20th and fell to 22nd in the final rundown, only finishing 37 of the 50 laps.  He was 28th fastest on the clock.

 

Dave Lyon was 30th in time trials, took a provisional and tailed the field at the start.  Lyon finished 21st, the first car off the lead lap.

 

Greg Oakes was 33rd fastest, did not make the A-Main.

 

Chad Valone was tenth in time trials, but did not make the feature.

 

Bump Hedman wowed the fans with his first-ever fast time for an Outlaws show.  Bump wound up third in his heat, experience mechanical woes in the feature and finished 23rd after completing only 36 laps.

 

2006 World of Outlaws Late Model champion Tim McCreadie was one of the big movers of the race, coming from 14th to fourth after timing in at 22nd fastest.

 

Mike Knight, currently the Eriez Speedway point leader, was 12th quick, started the feaure third and wound up seventh.

 

Tim Fuller, another Nodified standout, was 18th at the end of 50 laps after starting 11th and timing in at 11th fastest.

 

Union, KY's Darrell Lanigan was sixth fastest, won his heat, then drew the outside front row for the feature and led every lap enroute to his sixth win of the season.

Austin Hubbard, the teenage sensation from Seaford, DE was 13th on the clock, 13th at the end after starting 13th.

 

Josh Richards, two time defending champion of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and newest driver for Kyle Busch Racing, was eighth fastest.  Richards, the 2007 and 2010 winner of the Eriez stop on the tour, started the feature fifth and finished second to Lanigan, narrowing the point spread behind Eckert to 42 following the Eriez event.

 

"Cat Daddy", Clint Smith, all the way from Senoia, GA, was 16th fast, started 23rd and drove all the way to 12th.

 

Dan Stone won the third heat after timing in at seventh fastest.  He then started the A-Main  eighth and finished the 50-lapper ninth.

 

The "Titusville Terror" Rob Blair, was second fastest but fell to third in his heat, started the A-Main tenth and advanced to eighth at the finish.

 

Five-time Eriez Speedway Champion Rich Gardner came out of retirement after two years away from Late Model racing but was unable to make the field due to electrical problems after timing in at 32nd fastest.

 

John Lobb, Rookie of the Year candidate, was 25th fastest, started 21st and advanced one spot to 20th in the feature.

 

Andy Boozel timed at 24th quick, started the feature 16th and finished 15th,

 

Doug Eck was 35th on the clock and did not make the feature lineup.

 

The "Rimrider" rides the rim in qualifying!  Ron Davies was 15th fastest, won his B-Main.  The Rookie of the Year candidate started the A-Main 18th and finished 19th.

 

John Volpe was 21st on the clock.  Volpe also won his B-Main, then went on to 17th in the feature, right where he started.

 

Dutch Davies clocked in at 29th, but didn't make the feature.

 

Dick Barton, the winningest active driver at Eriez Speedway also didn't make the A-Main after timing in at 17th quick but experiencing problems in his heat and not being able to start the B-Main.

 

Chris Hackett, a former Eriez Speedway Champion, also failed to make the field after timing in at 31st.

 

Randy Lobb was 18th on the clock, did not make feature.

 

Jason DuPont was 26th in qualifying, started 19th but was the first one out of the A-Main, for a 25th position.

 

Dennis Lunger debuted a brand new Warrior chassis but had problems after timing at 34th and did not make the feature lineup.
