Racing continues through September at Eriez Speedway!

Hammett, PA September 1, 2010 - Points were all wrapped up last Sunday but racing continues for the next two weeks on Sunday night and then on September 25 on a Saturday night for an Enduro.

This Sunday will see a regular show for all classes plus the ASCS Sprints making their second visit of the season.  Connecticut's Bubba Broderick thrilled the crowd in May by racing right against the wall on his way to the win.  This will be the final race for the series and should see Bryan Howland crowned champion.  Howland, of Auburn, NY, holds an 82-point edge over Jared Zimbardi, Little Valley, NY.

Late Models, Limited Late Models, E-Mods, Sportsmen, Street Stocks, and Challengers will run regular shows.

Champions were crowned in all classes this past Sunday with Mike Knight gaining his second Jay's Auto Wrecking Super Late Model title and Dave Hess Jr triumphant in the Plyler Overhead Doors E-Mods. In the closest battle, Wade Slaney capped off a championship season in the Route 8 Boardwalk Bar and Grill Limited Late Models by a mere two points over the "Kid", rookie Steve Kania in a fight that went to the final lap.  Ben Burgess Jr dominated the Hunter Trucking Super Sportsman, winning nine of the twelve features contested.  Chris Withers had a great season, besting Greg Fenno for the title in the Mill Run Collision Street Stocks.  Jamie Hebner defeated his brother Josh for the championship in the Summit Auto Auction Challenger division.

A Challenger/Mini-Stock/Enduro has been scheduled for September 25 at 7 PM.  The event will run 100 laps and there will be no caution flags except in the case of a roll-over or a fire.  More details will be announced in the coming days but pit fees will be $25 per person and grandstand entry will be $5 for adults.  Children under 6 will be free.

Eriez Speedway is located on Sampson Road, just off Lake Pleasant Road in the town of Hammett, PA, 3 miles south of Interstate 90.  Take Route 8 South from Interstate 90 Exit 29 and follow the signs starting in Hammett.  Admission for this special racing weekend is $13.00 for Adults, $10 for seniors, children 6 - 15 $6, under 6 free.  Special events (Sprints and World of Outlaws Late Models) are more.
