The United Late Model Series returned to McKean County Raceway for the Stephanie Eckl Memorial Thursday July b31 and Raceway was there.  Below are photos from the ULMS portion of the evening.

 

The Racing For Kids Charities was present with tickets for the "Down and Dirty" race at Lake Erie Speedway September 17th with posters of the best Dirt Late Model Stars of the area.  Here charitie President Dave Stewart of Stewart Financial Services, and Brandon Kaczay, General Manager of Lake Erie Speedway, work the booth, handing out posters and tickets for the event .

Driver Ron Davies, Todd Andrews, and Bob Close were on hand for an autograph session for the Down and Dirty Posters.

 

Pete Alspaugh brought his Late Model in for the event but unfortunately did not make the A-Main.

Bob Close, many-time track champion,  wound up fifth at the end of the event.

 

Jeff Hoffman, another former track champion, was tenth when the checkers fell.

 

Alspaugh on the high side, battles Al Brewer for position during a heat.  Brewer wound up 12th in the final rundown.

 

Randy Lobb came over from Jamestown and finished 11th.

 

Doug Ricotta was 19th at the end.

 

Clymer, NY's Brent Rhebergen has had a steady season, finished sixth.

 

Stateline-Eriez regulars Andy Kania (a former Eriez Champion) and Hummingbird past champ Chris Farrell.. 

 

Well known for riding the rim at area tracks, both Dave Scott, inside, and Ron Davies, high, showed their versatility, battling each other in the heat, each using whatever line they needed to gain the advantage.  In the feature Scott wound up 20th after a rough night and Davies last after an even worse night.

 

Andy Boozel wound up 23rd.

 

Former track champion Dick Barton was fourth at the checkers.

 

Boozel and Rich Gardner, a many-time champion at Eriez Speedway race through turn four.  Gardner suffered mechanical problems and did not make the feature.

 

Luke Hoffner, one of the best drivers from central Pennsylvania and Dave Hess Jr, former Eriez champion, battle for position.  Hoffner wound up 21st in the feature while Hess was 8th.

 

Many time track champion Todd Andrews was unbeatable on this night, cruising to his third Stephanie Eckl Memorial, winning heat, dash and the feature.

 

Andrews run to Victory Lane was challenged by 21 year old Mike Knight, who has really been flexing some muscle lately.   The talented youngster made several runs on the veteran, but just didn't have enough for an acknowledged master of McKean County Raceway.

 

At only 21 years of age, Ripley, NY's Mike Knight has an extremely bright future ahead of him.  The popular youngster  already has a track championship (2007, Eriez) and a top five finish on the tough World of Outlaws Late Model Series circuit.  This kid is going to win a ton of races!

 

Darrell Bossard had a seventh at the checkers, here races with Doug Ricotta.

 

Al Brewer was 12th.

 

Ed Conner, Hummingbird standout, was 14th.

 

Boom Briggs could only muster a 24th this night, but would cross into Canada and take a win later in the weekend.  Peter Mantha did not make the feature.

 

Chris Farrell, 2006 track champion at Hummingbird, uses the high side to battle Andy Boozel.  Farrell was 16th at the finish.
